Building a Self-Aware Travel Platform

I’ve been quietly exploring an intriguing hypothesis lately, one that’s kept me thoroughly absorbed. It centers around the emerging intersection of AI-assisted development and ultra-lean startup operations.
The landscape of development is shifting dramatically with tools like Cursor and Windsurf. These AI-enhanced IDEs aren’t just incrementally better - they’re transforming how quickly a focused individual can build complex systems. It’s fascinating to see this play out in practice.
As a practical experiment, I launched roamember.com. From initial commit to launch took just three weeks. The rapid development continues - by next week, I’ll have implemented the paywall and smart itinerary import features, along with a functional mobile app. The speed of execution here has been remarkable.
But the really interesting part of this hypothesis goes beyond just rapid development. I’m exploring how a platform might evolve into something more intelligent. By feeding user interaction data back into custom models, I’m testing the boundaries of what you might call “self-aware companies.”
Think of it as an evolution of the lean startup methodology, where the platform itself becomes an active participant in its own growth. It could suggest which experiments to run, highlight user friction points, and optimize user journeys autonomously.
This feels like uncharted territory - a new model for building startups where the platform’s intelligence grows alongside its user base. I’m curious to see where this exploration leads.
